The Security Service of Ukraine detained a former Transcarpathian customs officer who had gone into hiding in the annexed Crimea

The Security Service of Ukraine detained former chief inspector of one of the customs posts of the Transcarpathian customs office. He is suspected of entering false information into official documents during the customs clearance of goods. This resulted over four million hryvnia damage to the state.

The attacker, who was accused under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in May this year, had gone into hiding in the annexed Crimea.

The former customs officer was detained by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region in one of the district centers of the region while trying to receive a passport in another name to travel abroad.

The pretrial investigation continues.
