Students, who found ecplosives in the woods, knew what to do thanks to the recommendations from pyrotechnics

October 12, specialists of the pyrotechnic group removed and defused two explosive items that has been found over the weekend in the territory of Uzhgorod district.

The first incident occurred on October 10 in the village of Orikhovytsya. Two students walking in a woodland picking mushrooms came across a suspicious metallic object. One of the boys, remembering the lesson of safety from pyrotechnics at his school observed all the safety rules. The boy marked the place of discovery, reported it to the relevant services and waited for the arrival of law enforcement. Rescuers, arriving to the village of Orikhovytsya on October 12, identified the found explosive item as an artillery shell of 125 mm caliber. It was transported to the military training ground and defused at 16:00.

Another suspicious object was found on October 11 in the village of Mali Heyivtsi. This time, the explosive was found by a local hunter. During the hunt, the man saw on the edge of a reclamation channel an item similar to a munition and called the Rescue Service "101". Pyrotechnics, arriving the next day to the scene, removed from the earth a mortar shell of 82 mm caliber and destroyed it on October 12th at 13:00. In addition, experts checked the area around the scene for the other explosives.
