Regional deputies approved the establishment of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation “TYSA”

Deputies of the Regional Council approved a draft decision "On the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability "TYSA".

 The draft decision was developed because of the need to approve the Agreement on the establishment of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability "TYSA" and the Statute of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability "TYSA", which is planned to be concluded today between the Transcarpathian Regional Council and the General Meeting of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg region and the government of the city of Kisvárda.

The mentioned Agreement provides for approval by the Parties of basic principles and mechanisms of their cooperation in the framework of the establishment of this grouping, and the Statute defines the main principles of the Grouping activities.

The objective of the Grouping is to implement cooperation programs or their parts in order to achieve common goals, as well as projects and programs being implemented in the border co-operation and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund.

The overall aim of the Grouping is to promote cross-border cooperation between its members in order to strengthen economic and social cohesion.

Theadoption of this draft decision will promote the proper organization of joint socio-economic development of Transcarpathian region and Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region in Hungary.

Three weeks ago, the decision establishing the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability "TYSA" was adopted by deputies of the General Meeting of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg region.
