Mukachevo border guard will be judged for a bribe of 15,000 UAH

The Military Prosecutor’s Office in Western Ukraine submitted to the court the indictment regarding the acting chief of the internal security department for the Mukachevo border guard detachment

The Military Prosecutor’s Office in Western Ukraine has completed the preliminary investigation in the criminal proceedings against the acting chief of the internal security department for Mukachevo border guard detachment of the State Border Guard Service suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the said officer received illegal profits in amount of 15,000 UAH from a soldier of the said border guard detachment for failing to do official interference with further military service.

The indictment in this criminal proceedings was forwarded to Mukachevo city and district court of Transcarpathian region for consideration on the merits.

According to the decision of the investigating judge of Shevchenko district court in Lviv, which was upheld by the Court of Appeal in Lviv region, the accused is in custody.
Reference: Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years, with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property and with a special confiscation.
