Local residents helped border guards to find migrants from Turkey in Transcarpathia

Last night, at the site of the department "Uzhgorod" of the Chop detachment, border guards detained four people near Ukraine-Slovak border. The unknown people in the border area were reported to the border guards by local residents. In order to prevent violations, the response team arrived at the scene.

Border guards found four migrants when they were trying to climb over the fence 150 meters away from the state border. The violators were a family of four citizens of Turkey. To clarify the circumstances of their stay in the border area, they were invited to go to the Border Guard Service department "Uzhgorod". There, the migrants received necessary assistance.  During the conversation, the Turkish nationals told that they had come to Ukraine legally and had the appropriate documents. They decided to cross the border outside checkpoints to get to Germany.

Border guards drew up a report on administrative violation against the detainees and released them until the court trial. The further fate of the family from Turkey will be decided by court.
