A 38-year-old man was burnt on fire in Perechyn

At night, October 14, in the city of Perechyn, on 50 rokiv Zhovtnya street, there was a fire in a residential apartment on the top floor of a five-storey building. The fire in the three-bedroom appartment was reported to the operational-rescue service at 3:11 by resident of the nearby block, who noticed smoke from a window.

Firefighters of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit immediately arrived to the scene to eliminate fire. It turned out that the scared owner of the apartment ran to the balcony and climbed to an adjacent appartment. From there, rescuers took him out and handed over to an ambulance crew. The 38-year-old man, who had suffered a thermal burn of the left half of the face and ear, was admitted to the surgical department of Perechyn central district hospital. Meanwhile, because of heavy smoke and a threat of fire spreading, firefighters evacuated 16 people from the building. Then, at 3:50, fire in the apartment was localized, and at 05:00 – completely eliminated.

The police are establishing the cause of the fire. The amount of damage is also being establsished as the flames destroyed the belongings in one of the rooms of the appartment. In addition, two living rooms, a refrigerator, a TV set and other household items were damaged.
