Volodymyr Chubirko: "Transcarpathia will receive new grants from the EU next year"

Yesterday, a general meeting of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation "Tisa" was held in the Hungarian city of Nyiregyhaza. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko and the Chairman of the general meeting of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg region Oscar Shestak.

At the meeting, they discussed the registration and activities carried out in the period between general meetings. Also, it was decided to hold the presentation of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation "Tisa" in Brussels. Also, at the general meeting, it was decided to start preparing the strategy of the grouping development.

Oscar Shestak noted the activity of the newly established structure. The agency was registered in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary on October 26. The web page of the grouping has been developed. After that, registration documents were referred to Brussels. "We laid the foundation of the grouping, now the real work begins. We hope that it will be effective for our communities."

Volodymyr Chubirko thanked the Hungarian partners for such intensive work and expressed hope that joint projects will start being implemented by the agency already next year. "We have received a tool that will help us to finance infrastructure projects in Transcarpathia using the EU funds. We became the first region outside the Union, which was included in the EGTC network and will receive grants for development. I am sure that new projects will be successful. The presentation of the grouping in Brussels will be an important step towards finding new partners for the territory of Europe."

The Agency will be forming new European projects, attracting funds in infrastructure and Transcarpathia, tourism, environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritage and so on.
