There will be no debate – Andriyiv will not shake Ratushniak’s hand (opinion)

Despite the information campaign concerning the debates of the participants of the second round of mayoral elections in Uzhgorod, it seems that it will not happen.

Bogdan Andriyiv made it clear. We do not know what the reason is – whether because Mr. Bogdan is afraid to look pale compared to manic populist Ratushniak, or there are some other reasons. So we are just publishing his statement posted on facebook. No comments. Direct speech:

"Yesterday, a group of talented journalists presented the project of the debates between the candidates for the mayor of Uzhgorod that reached the second round. Debates between candidates for positions of responsibility is a great tool for the implementation of popular democracy, which allows voters to take more responsible, informed decision. I would be glad to discuss the ways of the development of Uzhgorod with M. Kachur, M. Badyda, V. Chubirko. And, actually, with anyone who sincerely cares for our city. 

But given the personality of my potential opponent, I want to turn to the community for advice and ask a few questions to the organizers. Frankly, I do not know what I can debate with Serhiy Ratushniak about: 
– how to allocate as many land plots as possible during the mayoral cadence?
– how to easier seize communal property? 
– or, perhaps, how, contrary to the position of the community, experts and common sense, at any price to build up Narodna and Bohdan Khmelnytsky Squares? 
– or how to beat female students and pregnant women?… 

So, my question, first of all, to the men organizing the debate with this "candidate" Oleksandr Meryavchyk, Dmytro Tuzhansky, Volodymyr Feskov: will you, as men, shake hands with this person? And if charming Irina Breza was in place of Natalia Butymko battered by S. Ratushniak or the pregnant wife of I. Kovalev – would you still organize PR debate with the participation of S. Ratushniak? My parents taught me to respect and love women.   And this is what I am teaching my son to do. And I do not admit any compromise in this matter. I think this is what real men do. I have nothing to talk about with such a "man" as S. Ratushniak. Otherwise I betray my mother, wife and daughter!"
