The Variety and Symphonic Band of Uzhgorod State Music College students will play in the Regional Philharmonic
The music of brass bands can often be heard on the streets and squares of our cities, in different institutions and educational establishments, in large concert halls.
Such music will be performed soon in the Great Hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic: on November 22, at 16.00, the Laureate of international and Ukrainian festivals, Variety and Symphonic Band of Uzhgorod State Music College students will play there. The program is named after one of the pieces to be performed - "In a cheerful mood." Soloists Artem Kalinich (xylophone), Thomas and Emmerich Popovichs (trumpet), Daniel Illeysh (trumpet), Oleksandr Ferentsyk (vocals) will take part in the concert.
This what the director of the band, honored artist of Ukraine Ferenc Tomich says about it: "Our artists are students of the orchestra, brass and percussion instruments department. Currently, 35 students are studying at the department. They form the basis of our variety and brass bands. Actually, it's almost the same collective, except for a few instruments. The variety orchestra was established in 1998 due to the request of students to play music typical for pop and jazz big bands. Such bands always enjoy popularity, especially abroad, and our children hear and see all that and are interested in this kinf of music".
