The Commission will re-count votes, the results of the election to Uzhgorod city council may change

According to the chairman of Uzhgorod city election commission Yakiv Chernobuk, on November 9, the Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of the first instance court.

Lviv Administrative Court of Appeal upheld the resolution of the Transcarpathian Regional Administrative Court demanding to re-count votes to Uzhgorod city council on the basis of polling station protocols.

This was reported to the observer of the OPORA by the chairman of Uzhgorod city election commission Yakiv Chernobuk.
Thus, the demands of the plaintiffs - representatives of the parties "Patriot" and "European Party of Ukraine" - to cancel the protocol "On the results of the election of deputies of Uzhgorod city council in multi-member constituency" and to require to re-establish the voting results - were upheld.
According to the OPORA, on 5 and 6 of November, the Transcarpathian District Administrative Court canceled the protocol of the results of the election to Uzhgorod city council under the claim of representatives of the mentioned parties.
The candidate from the party "Hromadyanska pozytsiya" Inna Konar lodged a similar claim, the court upheld her claim in full. The appeal on this ruling is also pending in the court in Lviv.
Recall that all the plaintiffs proved in court that the final resuts in the protocols of polling stations did not match the figures of the final protocol of the City Election Commission on the results of voting for the party "Nash Krai" and "Opposition bloc". The difference can be about 500 votes.
If this information is confirmed after recalculation, the party "Nash Krai" may receive 3 seats in the city council rather that 4. The party "Opposition bloc" does not overcome the 5-percent electoral threshold to Uzhgorod city council, even if it turns out that it has 500 votes more.
When asked when the recount would take place, Yakiv Chornobuk said that it is currently unknown. "Definitely, it will be this week", - the chairman of the Commission stated.
As you know, this Sunday, November 15, the second round of the mayor elections will take place in Uzhgorod.
