In Transcarpathia, a heroin smuggler and traffickers in illegal immigrants will be judged

Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region completed a preliminary investigation and sent to the court the case of a Lviv citizen who organized the smuggling of heroin in 2008.

While working in one of the European countries, he decided to transfer heroin to Ukraine. The offender hid the drug in a jar of chocolate mass, put it in a parcel among other food, and gave it to a minibus driver engaged in international transportation.

Officers of the Security Service and customs officers found the drug during the vehicle luggage inspection at the customs post "Tisa". Since then, the resident of Lviv was hiding from the investigating authorities in one of the EU countries. In September this year, he was extradited to Ukraine.

Also, investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine sent to the court the case of a Transcarpathian, who in 2012 was involved in the trafficking of a citizen of Pakistan through the state border of Ukraine. For a long time, the offender was hiding from justice abroad. In September this year, he was arrested in Hungary and extradited to Ukraine.

In addition, the pre-trial investigation in the case of a Transcarpathian, who last year smuggled 70 illegal migrants to one of the European countries, has been completed. In March 2014, the offender smuggled across the state border 33 illegal immigrants, mostly citizens of Afghanistan, and at the end of September of the same year, another 37 illegal migrants.

The indictment on Part 2 of Art. 332 (trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was forwarded to Uzhgorod ciy and district court.
