Chubirko said goodbye
"The deputies managed to convene a session. 64 applications of newly elected deputies have been filed, tomorrow they will take the oath, and our cadence of the 6 convocation will be over" - the current Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko said at a press conference in Uzhgorod.
He said that the previous, today still current composition of the Regional Council was working under his leadership transparently and for the benefit of the community and that he hopes that good initiatives will continue.
What would he wish his successors? "We were working in difficult times. There was a period when the Regional Council was the only body which assumed responsibility for the functioning of the region - during the Revolution of Dignity - and the region functioned in the normal mode. This happened because we managed to convince even the colleagues from the Party of Regions to be constructive, we avoid conflicts," - Chubirko said.
He also noted that the regional authorities managed to do a great work on the support of the ATO participants.
The Regional Council allocated about 5 million hryvnia for Transcarpathian patients in need of costly complex operations, including replacement of joints, made at the expense of the regional budget.
Mr. Chubirko also told about successful projects with neighboring partner countries. Partner countries and regions allocated significant funds for the social sphere of Transcarpathia - 120 objects, mostly schools and kindergartens, have been repaired.
What plans remained unfinished? The Chairman of the Regional Council said - the develoment of the mechanisms to attract funds from abroad to the region, projects with municipalities, in particular, the project of the European Investment Bank, which finances updates of water utilities in the largest cities of Transcarpathia. In general, it is the continuation of the work for approximation to European standards - Volodymyr Chubirko said. "If our ideas are continued and supported by actions, Transcarpathia will be successful," - he said.
