127 attempts to move drugs acroos the border were prevented in Transcarpathia
In 2015, units of the Transcarpathian customs office have detected 127 cases of illegal movement of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors. The work on combating trafficking of hazardous substances was aimed, primarily, at the detection and elimination of the channels of illegal movement across the border.
Specialists of the customs office have seized the following narcotics: 1,820 pills of buprenorphine; 768 pills of tramadol; 117 pills of codeine; 125 grams of cocaine; 58 grams of cannabis. Also, the following psychotropic substances have been seized: 27 pills of amphetamines; 0.46 grams of methamphetamines; 1 LSD stamp; 1,090 phenylethylamine stamps. In addition, 21,366 pills of pseudoephedrine and 1,800 pills of anabolic drugs have been seized.
4 reports of crimes under Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (identification of psychotropic substances) and 125 reports of crimes under Articles 307, 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been referred law enforcement agencies.
As for the nationality of the violators of customs rules, it should be noted that about 82% of the total amount were citizens of Ukraine, Hungary and Slovakia. Also, often violators of customs rules had Russian, Serbian, Romanian and Czech nationality, and there are citizens of Western European countries (Portugal, Italy, France).
