Writers planted fir trees that later will become Christmas trees
Meetings of writers with Uzhgorod forestry workers have become traditional. This time, writers planted small fir trees that one day will become Christmas trees. Everyone planted ten trees, but this work was not onerous. Because experienced foresters were helping writers.
This time, the campaign took place in Uzhgorod forestry, in the Plevny tract, where a lot of beautiful beeches grow. Getting there is not easy, and there is a significant height difference. But the air there is much clearer, and the trees are taller.
Incidentally, the head of the Transcarpathian Organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine Vasyl Husti on that day celebrated his birthday. So he could not wish a better celebration. Also it was the Poetry Day. So, there was more than enough pleasant occasions for such a meeting.
For the first time, literary critic Oleksandra Ignatovych joined this group. The journalist, scholar, poet Serhiy Fedaka recited his new "green" poems. And the children's writer Galina Malik came there even with her granddaughter - Mykhailynka.
The Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Janka Burianova also supported the writers. And Father Serhiy, the Dean of Uzhgorod District sees a spiritual meaning in this event. Nature is silent, he said, but it always shows the divine love that permeats all life on earth. And the director of the Uzhgorod forestry Ivan Kostiv told about future campaigns which would take place this year.
