Uzhgorod children will be writing fairy-tales
And also making illustrations for them
This project is launched by the NGO "Happy Children". The author of the idea and its main implementer Olena Kurmichova promises that it will be very interesting and exciting.
The woman said that this creative project is designed for primary school children, ie approximately 7 to 11 years old. The idea is that for a long time (three months), each child will be a co-author of several stories.
"Every child starts their own fairytale - makes up and draws a character, opening the story, but not knowing how it will end. It is not even possible to come up with the title beforehand, because the story will be written by each child, that will participate in the project, moving the plot in completely unpredictable ways. And only having passed through all the project participants, the fairytale will return to the one who started it. Thus, each child will see each tale only once, creating a book spread: their own text and artwork. And then, we will gather for a small holiday and will read our tales from beginning to end," - Ms. Olena said.
"This collective work not only develops writing and drawing skills of children, but also teaches them to finish what was started, to feel part of a big common cause. Behind the external entertainment purpose, the project also has a hidden educational one - to teach younger students to work as a team and be responsible for joint activities" - representatives of the NGO believe.
The organizers hope that if the end result turns out to be of a high quality, a real book will be printed. The participants will be able to go on tour to the publishing house to have an idea of how books are "born". Also, they will organize for kids meetings with Transcarpathian writers who write for children.
