Uzhgorod authorities want to tax casinos
Uzhgorod city officials plan to generate revenue from casinos and gambling houses. By the draft decision of Uzhgorod City Council, it is plannned to tax non-residential property objects - casinos and gambling houses. The city deputies plan to tax such property at the rate of one per cent of the minimum wage established by the legislation as of January 1 of the reporting (tax) year per 1 square meter of the tax base.
But here is a strange thing. Gambling industry in Ukraine is prohibited under the law of 2009. So we would like to ask Uzhgorod city authorities, how do they plan to tax the prohibited business?
