Out 4000 Transcarpathians – participants of the ATO, only 60 have the status of combatants

This was reported today, March 16, by the deputy head of the office for the disabled, war and labour veterans of the Department of Social Welfare of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Natalia Omelyanyuk.

Currently, more than 4000 soldiers from among the inhabitants of the region are participants of the ATO, more than 300 have been injured, 59 have been killed. According to preliminary data, 60 participants of the ATO have received the status of combatants and a certificate – the Holos Karpat wrote.

The participants of the ATO, who have the status of combatants, are entitled to free sanatorium treatment and compensation for the cost of paid sanatorium treatment – the deputy head of the office for the disabled, war and labour veterans of the Department of Social Welfare of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Natalia Omelyanyuk explained.

In turn, the ATO participants, who do not have the status of combatants, are treated for charitable funds.

The certificate of combatant gives right for state-guaranteed benefits and compensations to the ATO participants. Upon receipt of this document, a soldier or his authorized representative should apply to the department of social welfare at the place of residence. 

At the moment, treatment is provided in four sanatoria of the Ministry of Social Policy and the health centers, vouchers for which are purchased by social security agencies.

In total, in Transcarpathian region, as of October 10, 2014, 55 such vouchers were issued, as of March 12, 29 of them have been used.

In addition, the regional program "Care" also provides for the reimbursement of the cost of treatment of such citizens.
