NBU: Ukrainians started selling currency

In February 2015, for the first time since June 2014, Ukrainians sold more foreign currency than bought.

This was stated in the report of the National Bank.

According to the report, the net sales (excess of supply over demand) of cash foreign currency by individuals in February 2015 amounted to 126.4 million dollars, while in February 2014, the net purchase of foreign currency by individuals was 782.3 million dollars.

"The amount of foreign currency purchased by banks from individuals is 194.3 million dollars. The amount of foreign currency sold to individuals is 67.9 million," - the statement says.

In January-February, the net foregn currency sales amounted to 145.8 million dollars (equivalent).
