In Uzhgorod, a phone thief was caught
While visiting and drinking vodka with her friend, a 53-year-old resident of Uzhgorod stole his mobile phone worth 750 UAH.
A 60-year-old city resident filed a statement with Uzhgorod city police. The applicant said that his mobile phone worth 750 UAH had disappeared.
Soon, district inspectors of the city police identified the person involved in the offense. The thief was a 53-year-old friend of the victim.
That day, she came to the victim's place. They sat down at the table, drank a little. When the owner was away for a minute, the guest took his phone and went home...
The next day, she sold the stolen mobile phone, and bought for that money vodka and food...
The incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations and the criminal proceeding was opened under Part 1 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft). The article provides for a punishment by a fine of fifty to one hundred times the minimum tax-free income, community service for a term of 80 to 240 hours, correctional labor for up to two years, arrest for up to six months, or imprisonment for up to three years.
