In Transcarpathia, scammers cheated a woman out of 43,000 UAH with a promise of a new “Chevrolet”

A gullible resident of Khust District transferred the money supposedly for registration of a "prize" brand new car, which she has never received…
 
A 36-year-old resident of the village of Rokosovo filed a statement with Khust city police. She said that she had received a call from an unknown citizen who introduced himself as a representative of an automobile company, and told her that she had won a brand new car "Chevrolet".
 
They requested money from the woman supposedly for the registration of the "prize". As a result, the gullible woman transferred to various accounts as much as 43,000 UAH! Of course, after that she could not contact him anymore…
 
Along with the woman from Rokosovo, her 39-year-old fellow villager was similarly cheated out of 5,000 UAH. The third victim was a 31-year-old resident of Khust, who transferred the crook 10,000 UAH.
 
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over these facts under Art.190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is ongoing.
