"I want to live a decent life" - the killed Vasyl Bilak from Drotyntsi wrote at the prom (PHOTOS)

The village of Drotyntsi in Vynogradiv district with sorrow buried their young countryman, Lieutenant of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade, 22-year-old Vasyl Bilak, who died in the ATO area near Debaltseve.   The sky was crying with rain, and villagers - with bitter tears.  With military honors and a brass band, they marched from his parental home to the Orthodox church where the funeral of the deceased hero took place.

He chose the military profession contiously - after the ninth grade of Drotyntsi school he entered and graduated from Mukachevo Military Lyceum, then continued his studies in Lviv Army Academy named after hetman Sagaydachny. After that, the young lieutenant served in Vynogradiv garrison and then was sent to the undeclared war in the ATO area. He served the second division of the first battery of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade near Debaltseve.  He was killed on February 9 and only now it became possible to bring the Hero to his home village and to hold the funeral. The whole village of Drotyntsi met the young soldier kneeling and with lamps in their hands.

His teacher Hanna Shalmai remebers the guy as a leader and a gifted young man. He liked Greek mythology, and his favorite hero of the ancient epic was Prometheus.   At the prom at Drotyntsi school, together with classmates he buried the capsule with their wishes. Vasyl wrote: "I want to live a decent life." And so he did.

Our hero, Lieutenant Vasyl Bilak in September would turn 22 years old...
