A resident of Khust was sentenced for a theft
Khust District Court sentenced a 31-year-old female resident of Khust to one year probation, with a trial period. The woman was on trial for the appropriation of other people's money in excess of 10,000 UAH.
A local resident appealed to Khust city police with a request to find his credit card with more than ten thousand hryvnias.
Soon, the police figured out where the victim's card was gone - it had been stolen by a 31-year-old relative of the victim.
While talking with the police officers, the woman realized that she could not deny it. To protect herself, she came up with the story that she had supposedly found the credit card on the street. However, the police officers proved that she had stolen the card, and then she withdrew from it the money in the amount of more than ten thousand hryvnias that she spent for her own needs.
During the trial, the woman confessed to stealing the card and was sincerely repentant. The court took it into account and sentenced the mother of two to probation.
