A phone scammer cheated a resident of Irshava district out of 5,700 UAH

A 23-year-old resident of Irshava district became a victim of a phone scammer. The young woman voluntarily told the pseudo-security officer of the bank all the information about her bank card...
The resident of the village of Osiy in Irshava ditrict received a call from an unidentified man who said that he was an employee of the bank security service. He asked to tell him the credit card details for inspection. The woman, without thinking, told the account number and the PIN of the card. Later she received an SMS that 5,700 UAH had been withdrawn from her account...
The victim appealed to Irshava law enforcement officers who began searching for the phone fraudster.
This fact was registered in the Unified register under Part 1 of Art.190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud), which provides for punishment by a fine of up to 50 minimum month wages, correctional labor for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to three years.
Despite constant warnings of law enforcement agencies, since the beginning of the year, several similar scams have been registered in Irshava district. In all cases, telephone scammers took advantage of the gullibility of citizens.
