A foreign lost his car because of 100 packs of cigarettes

Durind the in-depth inspection of the vehicle at the checkpoint of the customs post "Dyakove" of the Transcarpathian customs offices, smuggled cigarettes were found.

A European was crossing the Ukrainian border to Romania and before the customs control, orally declared the absence of any hidden goods and objects. However, after consideration of the risks and sending the car from the "green corridor" to the "red", the customs officers found in the car cigarettes of the brand "JIN LING" with foreign excise stamps "FOR DUTY FREE ONLY". The contraband tobacco products in amount of 100 packs were under the rear passenger seat, so customs officers got access to them only after the dismantling of the seat.

Thus, the citizen committed the acts with signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Art.483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Therefore, under the law, according to Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the object of the customs regulations violation and the vehicles with specially made caches used for transportation and concealment of goods shall be confiscated.

In this case, those are 100 packs of cigarettes "JIN LING" worth 1300 UAH and the car "VOLKSWAGEN GOLF" made in 1991.
