Vasyl Hubal nominates the Transcarpathian "cyborgs" for awards (PHOTOS)
On Tuesday, May 12, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration met in an informal atmosphere with the Transcarpathian "cyborgs" - participants of the defense of Donetsk airport, who went to the front under the first wave of mobilization and at first served in the battalion of territorial defense.
Vasyl Hubal commented the meeting with soldiers in his facebook:
"Today, I invited for a cup of coffee special men, had the honor to speak with our Transcarpathian cyborgs. The guys who went to the front under the mobilization, for several months were holding the defense in Donetsk Airport and other hottest spots of the front. Mykola Mynio and Roman Trubin are of different ages, one is around 50, the other one is in his early 30s, have different experience (the former participated in the Afghan war), but they are best friends. They are, in my opinion the pride of the Ukrainian army, the pride of Transcarpathia.
Of course, we talked about problems of the soldiers who have returned home. I admit, some officials still do not realize the complexity of the situation - they think that the war is somewhere far away. I am doing everything I can to counteract it. I suggested our cyborgs establish an NGO for the ATO participants - a body which would be truly versed in military issues and could influence their solution, would help to support each other. We discussed the problems of land allocation, rehabilitation, the process of mobilization. We also spoke about honoring the soldiers who showed special courage. Oddly enough, too few of the cyborgs have received the highest state awards. I think that it should be corrected, and I will nominate our Transcarpathians - those who took part in the legendary defense - for awards and other honors. Soon, I will send nominationts to the President and the Defense Ministry. This is the least we can do to thank them for their courage," - Vasyl Hubal said.
Thus, the head of the region will nominate all seven Transcarpathians who defended Donetsk airport, for state awards.
