Uzhgorod customs officers seized from a citizen 18 patches with buprenorphine

Yesterday, May 25, 2015, at the customs post "Tisa", Transcarpathian customs officers found the patch "Transtec 35 microgrammi/h Cerotto transdermico" restricted for circulation in Ukraine. Customs officers found the medicines on a citizen of Ukraine who had arrived to the customs post by a minibus "Mercedes-benz Sprinter 316CDI" with Ukrainian license plates.

During the customs control of the vehicle and the belongings of the citizen, customs officers found the foreign medicines not specified in the customs declaration and not declared during the oral interview. It was the patch "Transtec 35 microgrammi/h Cerotto transdermico" with the active ingredient "Buprenorfina" (buprenorphine), 20 mg in a patch, a total of 18 patches. The access to them was not obstructed.

Note that the active ingredient "Buprenorfina" (buprenorphine) is included in the list of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and precursors the circulation of which is restricted.

Individuals have the right to carry narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances purchased under a prescription of a physician upon the presentation of such prescription issued by the health care institution in accordance with legal requirements.

The citizen of Ukraine did not provide to the customs authority accurate information about the items being carried by him across the customs border and subject to mandatory declaration and restrictions for moving across the customs border of Ukraine. These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the report of customs rules violation has been drawn up, and the patches were confiscated.
