Ukrainians will be offered a "social umbrella" for protection against overpayment for utilities

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman believes that the issue of tariffs must be completely open and public.

Groisman said that during the press conference in Vinnytsia, the UNIAN reported.

"I believe that the issue of tariffs should be completely open and public. All mechanisms of calculation of every penny in the tariff should be worked out by the Government, the National Commission and communicated to society. Today tariffs in Ukraine are not trusted. Therefore, the Government, together with the Commission and the Parliament should open it (tariff calculation)" - Groisman said.

He also noted that he insisted on transparency in the energy market.

"The main point I insisted on is that the entire energy market must be open: how much we produce, how much we transport, how much we sell, how much we export or import - Ukrainian should see all that and the price will be based on that. It is therefore important to finish this job and communicate to society. Tariffs must be open and clear, then they will be trusted," - Groisman said.

As for the payment of tariffs, then Chairman of the Parliament believes that social protection, subsidies must be quickly worked out.

"Today, there is the task for the government and ministries: to work out this issue so that people automatically begin receiving subsidies, and then there will be a "social umbrella" that will not allow people to pay more than they should," - Groisman said.
