Ukraine and Slovakia are an example of good neighborliness (PHOTOS)
Ukrainians and Slovaks have shown what the relations between the two neighboring countries should be like. It was evident today, May 15, on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, at the international checkpoint "Maly Berezny - Ublya." The annual Neighborleness Day took place there.
The participants of the event signed the Joint Action Program of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Transcarpathian Regional Council and Prešov self-governing region for the period from May 2015 to May 2016, and the Executive protocol №7 to the Memorandum on Cooperation of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Transcarpathian Regional Council and Košice self-governing region for the period from May 2015 to May 2016.
Currently, Ukraine together with Slovakia is a partner in the preparation and implementation of the project, which is financed from the EU funds within the framework of the Cross-border cooperation program "European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument." Together with Slovakia, they will be modernizing and reconstructing the checkpoint "Uzhgorod - Vysne Nemecke." This checkpoint also occasionally hosted similar meetings.
Today's festivities were attended by the acting chief of the Transcarpathian customs office Igor Oliynyk, along with leaders of the Transcarpathian region Vasyl Hubal and Volodymyr Chubirko, Prešov and Košice self-governing territories,.
The meeting of the representatives of the authorities, customs officers, border guards and the public from the neighbouring countries is, first an foremost, a discussion of promising ways of deepening cooperation between Slovak self-governing regions and Transcarpathia in different areas, primarily cultural, sports, tourist and historical.
