The Parliament eliminated the monopoly of housing offices

The Parliament passed a law that eliminates the monopoly of housing offices and allows residents of apartment buildings to effectively manage common property.

256 deputies voted for the bill number 1565 "On peculiarities of ownership in apartment buildings".

According to the explanatory memorandum, the aim of the project is to solve the problems with ownership in apartment buildings related to the need to create conditions for efficient operation and maintenance of common property of apartment buildings, as well as the identification of alternative management methods.

In addition, the adoption of the bill will:

- regulate legislatively relations in the field of apartment building management, help to preserve the existing housing stock and its efficient management, which is a part of state housing policy;

- provide citizens with necessary legal framework for the effective management of apartment building on their own (independently);

- create conditions for involvement of entities - professional managers - in the management of common property in apartment building and development of the management services market.
