A member of Mukachevo orienteering club "Tovarysh" Serhiy Raschupkin won a bronze medal of the mountain running championship of Ukraine. The competition was held in the village of Slavske on the famous among skiers Mount Pohar - it was there where 120 years ago first in Ukraine horse-drawn lift was built.

The first to finish the 12-kilometer distance in 57.14 was Vadim Rohozovsky from Kyiv, the second was master of sports in orienteering Andriy Boris from Ivano-Frankivsk region - 58.04. The sixth and the thirteenth places were taken by Eduard Hapak and Serhiy Rosul from Uzhgorod.

Now, our athlete will be preparing for the world championship which will be held in September in the UK.

By the way, the organizers of the Ukraine's championship in Lviv plan to submit an application for hosting the European championship in this place, but here, in Transcarpathia, for example in Volovets or Podobovets, you can easily find equally interesting terrain and great living conditions in modern hotels. Maybe Transcarpathia should nominate its own candidacy, Transcarpathian athletes wonder?

In the team event, teams of Lviv region, the city of Kyiv and Kharkiv region made it in the top three. The incomplete team of Transcarpathia (without women and juniors) won the 6th place, behind Sumy and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
