Self-help on a battlefield (PHOTOS)
NGO "Carpathian Sich" with the "Medical Volunteer" of UzhNU conducted a training on military and tactical medicine.
Tactical medicine. This quite simple, but very important subject was completely ignored in the Ukrainian armed forces. Also, unfortunately, only a small number of our defenders have modern "NATO" first aid kits. The process has just started. But to provide all soldiers with modern kits is only half the battle. They must know how to use its components. They also must know how to approach a wounded soldier, stop bleeding and so on.
The following trainings were conducted: "Basics of evacuation," "Control of bleeding from wounds", "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation", "Restoring the patency of airways", "Control of arterial bleeding using bandages and CELOX strips", "Immobilization" (application of splints)" and so on.
The Sich members promise to continue conducting trainings: "If there are no skills of first aid provision or self-help on the battlefield, it is impossible to survive!"
