Most advertisers appealed to Uzhgorod city council, because, under the contract they were supposed to pay one amount, and under the Regulation, due to the rate of inflation, they pay almost three times more.
As of today, the total debt is 30,000 UAH. However, it is a transition amount arising due to various terms of payment – the Zaholovok writes.
As noted at the meeting of the executive committee by a representative of Uzhgorod Prosecutor’s Office, the inflation rate has stabilized, so there is no need to delete the clause "The amount of monthly payment shall be calculated taking into account the inflation index, as defined by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.". Other members of the executive committee, however, noted that at some point advertisers would stop paying at all.
Finally, the mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Pogorelov suggested to vote for the draft decision. It was supported by another six members of the executive committee. The decision was not passed. However, it will be further studied and may be reviewed.
Earlier, the mayor postponed the consideration of the decision to extend the permits for outdoor advertising.
