Naftogaz: we can not afford 25° in apartments in winter
According to the head of the "Naftogaz", the state can not afford to heat appartments to 25 degrees in winter.
Andriy Kobolyev said that during the energy summit, held on May 7 in Berlin, the "Ukrinform" reported.
He said that while consumption across the country now amounts to 40 billion cubic meters, this figure should be actually reduced by 10 billion, ie a quarter.
"In Kyiv, homes in winter were heated to 25 degrees, we can not afford it and we have to explain it to the people" - the official illustrated one of the ways to reduce fuel consumption.
The head of the NAC argued that the average price that Ukrainian familied paid for gas last year, net of tax, amounted to approximately $ 30 per one thousand cubic meters - "a ridiculously low price". "This is less than in Russia - the producer country," - Kobolev said.
However, he noted that "the process has begun" and in April the price increased 4 times, although, it still has not reached market level. He also assured that the company cares about consumers, providing subsidies to those whose gas bills exceeds half of the amount of income.
