MEPs believe the EU to abolish visas for Ukraine already in 2015
The summit of "Eastern Partnership" in Riga should become a platform for the manifestation of solidarity of European countries with Ukraine, which is now under pressure of war.
This opinion was expressed by MEPs Petras Aushtryavichyus and Mark Demesmaeker at the briefing in Kyiv, the Interfax-Ukraine reported.
"We expect the abolition of visas for Ukrainians already in 2015," - they said.
The parliamentarians reminded that the abolition the visa regime would be possible once Ukraine fulfills all the necessary conditions, in particular, introduces biometric passports and an integrated information system for the control of persons crossing the Ukrainian border, and adopts international conventions to combat organized crime.
Also, to have visa-free regime, Ukraine must restore control over the state border.
"We can recognize certain administrative lines, given the reality, but not new borders. We conclude agreements with united Ukraine", - Aushtryavichyus said.
