Legendary athletes will take part in the development of youth sport

The Chairman of the Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko met with the legendary footballer, the former midfielder of Kyiv "Dynamo" Vasyl Rats. They talked about the development of youth sport, and especially football.

Vasyl Rats noted that Transcarpathia has considerable potential, but currently the achievements of our athletes are not as significant as they once were. "I know that talented children from my native Vynogradiv district and Beregovo district study in sports schools of neighboring Hungary, and our young people here in the region do not always have the opportunity to realize themselves. We have talents, but children require the right approach. There is business that is ready to invest in sports development, there are facilities, coaches - and we need to use all that in order to revive the football glory of Transcarpathia", - the legendary footballer says.

Volodymyr Chubirko stated that Transcarpathia, unlike other regions of the country, managed to keep all youth sports school. Sports associations are also supported through local financing. The Council found the opportunity to pay scholarships to the best athletes. And this year, 11 sports grounds will be installed. "Your experience is priceless, so we invite you to take part in the organization of youth sports schools, specialized schools. We want to make their work transparent, especially in the selection of young athletes there," - the Chairman of the Regional Council said.

Also Volodymyr Chubirko offered Vasyl Rats the post of his advisor for the development of sports industry of the region.
