Transcarpathian orienteers participated in the "Malcovská 15" (PHOTOS)
On June 14, the international athletic competition "Malcovská 15" took place near the Slovak town of Bardijev. It was attended by a large group of Ukrainian athletes. Our athletes felt at home there.
Ukrainians showed good results - four of them made it in the top eight. But, our athletes won no medals in the main category - all awards went to Kenyans from yje Hungarian "Benedek Team".
Hillary Kiptum Kimayo won with the result of 45.53, Kibet Abel Rop finished second (46.19), Moses Mosa Caumont - third (46.38). Oleksandr Matviychuk from Khmelnytsky - multiple champion of Ukraine and the winner of several international marathons - finished fourth (47.27), Pavlo Veretsky from Donetsk - fifth, Volodymyr Yurchuk from Ivano-Frankivsk - seventh (after Kenyan Silas Tu), former champion of Ukraine in half marathon Igor Russ from Kyiv finished with the eighth result.
The best of Transcarpathians this time was Serhiy Raschupkin from Mukachevo who took the 12th place in the main category, followed by Eduard Hapak from Uzhgorod, another Uzhgorod athlete - Anatoliy Maly finished 19th (3rd result in the category of "young" veterans). 57-year-old Dmytri Ivanysh from the regional center took the 6th place in his age group.
