Transcarpathian customs officers seized contraband Italian cosmetics

One Ukrainian, at the request of another one, wanted to bring to Ukraine sun creams and lipsticks of different brands from Italy.

The citizen did not properly provide accurate information about the goods in amount of 320 pieces which are subject to obligatory written declaration. His actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine – failure to declare goods, vehicles for commercial use.

The citizen tried to cross the state border at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office. Having chosen the "red corridor" for customs control, he filled out the customs declaration, indicating his passport data and the information on the baggage with personal belongings. During the oral questioning, he confirmed all the above information and denied having any other goods, including those subject to taxation. 

During the customs control of the Ukrainian’s car and belongings, in addition to the declared baggage with personal belongings, they found cosmetics for women of different brands that was not listed in the customs declaration and not claimed during oral questioning. The goods were in two cardboard boxes. Access to the detected goods was not obstructed.

The determination of the cost of the seized goods requires additional assessment involving an expert.

Currently, the report on violation of customs rules has been drawn up, and the goods being the direct objects of violation of customs regulations were confiscated.
