Transcarpathian Chernobyl victims will be reimbursed costly treatment

This was announced by the Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department of the RSA Victor Matsola.

The official said that the budget program "Complex medical and sanitary support and treatment of cancer with the use of high-cost medical technologies for citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster" provides for Transcarpathian region the funds in the amount of 145,239 UAH.

According to him, currently Transcarpathia has received 66,000 UAH. These funds are planned to be used to refund the Regional Clinical Oncology Center the cost of cancer treatment of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster.

This decision was taken jointly by the Department of Social Welfare, the Department of Health of the RSA and the public organization "Union Chernobyl of Ukraine" in Transcarpathian region. Currently, the Department of Social Welfare and the management of Regional Clinical Oncology Center signed the relevant agreement.

So, to receive specialized medical care, citizens, who have cancer, should contact the Regional Clinical Oncology Center at Uzhgorod, Brodlakovych st. 2.
