The head of the office of the European Investment Bank in Ukraine is visiting Transcarpathia

At the invitation of the Regional Council, the head of the office of the European Investment Bank in Ukraine Liliya Chernyavska has come to Transcarpathia for a working visit. She plans to examine water utilities in Uzhgorod, Mukachevo and Beregovo, which are proposed to be included in a new investment project. In Uzhgorod, she met with the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko.

Last week, the Chairman of the Regional Council, together with the mayors of Uzhgorod, Mukachevo and Beregovo, discussed this project with European partners in Budapest at the seminar "Danube Strategy". They also discussed the possibility of attracting the Bank's funds.

According to Liliya Chernyavska, Ukraine has started cooperation with the European Investment Bank in 2004. Thanks to the cooperation, we have the opportunity to attract the bank's long-term financial resources to Ukraine's economy to implement important infrastructure, energy, environmental and other investment projects of national importance.
Today, Liliya Chernyavska will examine municipal water supply company in Uzhgorod. Tomorrow - in Beregovo and Mukachevo.

"There is an opportunity to upgrade the water utility in the regional center at the expense of European partners. The EU countries are interested in this, because these countries have a common water basin with us. After upgrading the enterprise, the city residents will have the opportunity to receive quality water. At the same time, modern technology can be applied in waste water treatment", - Volodymyr Chubirko said.
