The funds raised at charity concerts in Uzhgorod were transferred to the Regional Children's Hospital
Two significant cultural events took place in Transcarpathia in the last month: On May 25, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble performed in the Regional Music and Drama Theater, and on June 15, the chamber choir "Cantus" and the orchestra "Leopolis" (Lviv) presented the concert of classical music "Bach in Krupka's House" - in honor of the 330th anniversary of composer Johann Sebastian Bach and on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the famous architect Frantisek Krupka.
Besides the high artistic value of both events, they had a charitable component: the artists transferred the funds donated by the audience for the needs of the Transcarpathian Regional Children's Hospital.
The financial assistance for the medical institution was delivered to the chief physician by the head of the Culture Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. According to Yuriy Hleba, UAH 22.5 thousand was raised. "The amount, though, not that big, but still this "live" money which, unlike public funding, can immediately be spent on the essentials without any lengthy formalities."
In turn, the head physician Yevhen Zhupan confirmed that the institution really needs a lot of investments to repair the facilities and to equip the hospital with modern equipment. The first in line is the hematology department, and that's what these funds will be used for in the first place. "I want to thank all people of good will who contributed to fundraising, especially the artists for this noble deed and care for sick children."
