In Volovets district, deputies also ask to reduce gas tariffs
The deputies of Volovets district council appealed to the Cabinet with a proposition to revise the tariff for gas for the population. Deputies state that they receive many complaints from residents of Volovets district about exorbitant fees for utilities.
They believe that in the conditions of socio-economic crisis in the country, further increase in the cost of food, goods, fuel and services, including housing and utilities, popular discontent is greatly exacerbating and level of social tension is increasing.
"Residents of the district for many years have been using natural gas for heating needs and, in practice, the set preferential consumption per month (200 cubic meters) during the heating season does not ensure the proper level of heating. So, consequently citizens will have to exceed the specified amount, especially in private homes, and pay for excess volume already at the price of UAH 7.188 per 1 cubic meters, which will adversely affect the financial situation of citizens and significantly worsen the living standards of the population.
In view of the above, in order to increase the authority of the government and to remove social tensions, we urge to instruct the relevant central authorities to revise tariffs for natural gas for the population and to reduce them" - the statement says.
