In Transcarpathia, the Danube Day will be celebrated with the "Plastic treasures" and a festival

 On June 27, there will be the annual press tour of Uzhgorod Press Club to the celebrations on the occasion of the Danube Day. 

The Danube Day is a common pan-European event, which is celebrated annually in late June in 14 countries of the river basin under the auspices of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River. The Danube Day in Ukraine is traditionally celebrated in the basin of the Tisa River - one of the largest tributaries of the Danube.

At 13.00, in Rakhiv, on the square, there will be the Children's Festival "Tisa, the Danube's younger sister." The festival will include:

Announcement of the eco-fashion contest results

The eco-fashion contest is a display of costumes made of both natural materials and wastes. The winners (first, second and third places) will receive valuable prizes, all the rest also will receive gifts.The winner of the contest will receive the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the European competition for all countries of the Danube basin.

Workshop on camouflage net making "Give protection to a soldier!"

We invite all quests to join the joint celebration making of camouflage nets Transcarpathian soldiers by giving new life to old things and camouflage to the defenders of Ukraine.

Workshop on children's make-up "Natural World: reincarnation!"

The youngest guests of the festival will be able to turn into an animal or a plant from the Carpathians. The aim of the workshop is to instill empathy in children for the state of nature in the Carpathians.


The events are organized by the Transcarpathian regional organization of the National Environmental League with the support of Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine, the Department of Culture and the Department of Education and Science of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Rakhiv District State Administration and the Tisa River Basin Water Resources Management Department.
