Illegal immigrants from Afghanistan were detained on the border with Slovakia

As previously reported, on June 17, in afetrnoon, borders guards of the department "Novoselytsia" detained seven people from Afghanistan. Another three Afghans, according to our border guards, were detained by their Slovak colleagues. However, less than 24 hour later, another group of illegal immigrants tried to "slip" across Ukrainian-Slovak border at the site of the above unit.

On June 18, in the morning, while patrolling the area, "green berets" with a sniffer dog found another "tourist group" from Asia. The unknown men were detained after they had overcome engineering structures, at a distance of about one kilometer to the border. At the request of the border guards to show IDs, the men responded negatively, and told that they were going to enter the EU. Also, the detainees told that they were citizens of Afghanistan aged 13 to 30 years.

Currently, the offenders are being identified and verification activities are being conducted. The decision on liability and further fate of the detainees will be taken by court.

By the way, for the last three weeks, border guards of the Chop detachment have arrested 31 natives of Afghanistan at the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
