Europe offers money
On June 19, in the Transcarpathian Regional Scientific Library, there was the presentation of the project "Ukrainian regional platform of public initiatives", where they announced the contest of projects for grants to support the implementation of democratic changes at the local level in Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions funded by the European Commission in Ukraine.
In Transcarpathia, the project is implemented by the Foundation "Center of Public Initiatives" (www.ci-center.org) in partnership with the NGO "Western Ukrainian Center "Women's Perspectives". The purpose of the project is to support local initiatives of CSOs and newly formed initiative groups, particularly those located in rural and remote areas, to ensure their active participation in the democratic changes in Ukraine.
Newly incorporated (registered in 2014 and later) public associations, charitable organizations (non-profit code 005 and 006), tocal action groups from settlements with the population of up to 100 thousand people are invited to submit proposals.
Project applications will not be accepted from religious organizations, political parties and their local organizations, trade unions, local government associations, local self-government and executive authorities, municipal institutions and enterprises, individuals, commercial organizations.
Project proposals may be funded if they meet one or more of the following thematic priorities:
- Protection and promotion of human rights;
- Public control and monitoring of local authorities and local governments;
- Combating corruption;
- Civic education, advocacy and community associations to jointly address problems;
- Help (except for charitable or humanitarian) to internally displaced persons from the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The minimum amount of the grant, which an organization or initiative group may request, is 45,000 UAH.
The maximum amount of the grant, which an organization or initiative group may request, is 90,000 UAH.
Deadline for submission of proposals: July 15, 2015 (23:59).
Project duration: 6 months starting from September 1, 2015.
