The scandalous Uzhgorod Master Plan, which allows allocation of new land lots for construction in green zones was adopted at the regular meeting of the City Council of Uzhgorod.

This decision made ​​changes to the current Master Plan.  37 deputies voted for it - the informed.

Thus, Uzhgorod deputies adopted a new Master Plan without zoning plan.  

Although public hearings were held, they adopted the resolution: not to adopt decisions in the field of urban planning until historical and architectural plan is approved in Kyiv. Public activists at first were not allowed to speak, but after shouts that the community has the right to speak the Mayor Victor Pogorelov gave Oleksandr Peresolyak - the chairman of the Public Council at the Uzhgorod City Council - an opportunity to speak. In addition, Uzhgorod mayor said: "The community does not take decisions here."


"The historical and architectural plan is still in Kyiv, so adopting the decision is inappropriate and not quite legal", - the deputy Rostislav Bulanov said.

Despite that, Pogorelov announced voting for the decision in general. After two attempts, the decision was not adopted. Then Victor Pogorelov asked the deputies for the third time to think over it, because, he said, the plan had existed long before them. As a result, 37 deputies voted for it and the decisions was adopted. People in the hall immediately started crying "Shame" - the Zaholovok writes.


"The project was reviewed by the Architecture and Urban Planning Board and and at the public hearings in the established order. The historical and architectural plan is under consideration at the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, and after positive opinion it will be submitted for further approval by the City Council," - the document states.
