Border guards from Velyky Berezny detained illegal immigrants using weapons

Another group of illegal migrants from the Caucasus region were detained by border guards at the site of the department "Velyky Berezny".

"Green berets" detected the group of four unidentified persons moving towards the Ukrainian-Slovak border around two in the morning. Organizing the surveillance, border guard made sure that they were intending to get to the neighboring country, and when the men approached the border, the patrol initiated the detention. At that time, two unknown men tried to run away. However, several warning shots from a special device for shooting rubber bullets "cooled down" the adventurers and they were detained too. According to the offenders, all of them were citizens of Georgia, but without any documents, and had come to Ukraine legally. The destination for "tourists" was one of the EU countries.

Also, during personal search of one of the detainees, border guards found a flash storage medium with electronic records of constituent data for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine which may constitute classified information. Expert evaluation of the detected files will be conducted by competent authorities.

Currently, operational and verification activities are ongoing. The offenders were taken to the border guard unit for identification and drafting administrative procedural documents. Their further fate will be determined by the court.
