Bach in the Krupka building (Announcement)

The Cantus Chamber Choir continues a series of concerts to celebrate the Bach Year.

This time, the choir together with leading soloists and performers from Lviv, accompanied by the chamber orchestra "Leopolis" will perform two polyphonic pieces of the composer - Cantata number 21 and the Magnificat hymn. For the first time in decades, the concert will be held in the atrium-lobby of the Provincial Government, the present building of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

This room plays a crucial role in the event. The atrium space designed by renowned architect Frantisek Krupka probably has the best acoustics in Uzhgorod. According to the project, important social events, concerts and other festive events promoted or involving the governor were to be held there. For a while, they were. And now there is hope that this tradition will resume. Symbolic is the fact that music of Johann Sebastian Bach will be performed in the room created in the neo-classical style (which became a kind of generalization of architectural styles of several centuries). And Bach, in turn, summarized the achievements of music during the transition from Baroque to Classicism, and is considered a virtuoso of musical composition.

The charity concert will take place on June 15, at 19:00.

The dress code is evening wear.

Admission by invitation only. Seats are limited. For more information, call: 61-40-21, 050 519 8426
