Another group of eight illegal immigrants was detained on the border with Slovakia
As part of the special measures "Frontier-2015", yesterday, border guards of the Chop detachment in collaboration with their Slovak colleagues detained another group of illegal immigrants from Asia trying to enter the EU bypassing checkpoints.
During the monitoring of their area of responsibility, soldiers of the department "Novoselytsia" deployed in Perechyn found signs of trespassing and tracks of unknown persons. During the chase, three hundred meters from the Ukrainian-Slovak border, "green berets" detained five men without documents. The offenders told the border guards that they came from Afghanistan. Also, the detainees said that they had "lost" three more of their countrymen.
This information was reported by Ukrainian border guards to their Slovak colleagues, and they continued to comb the area. Later, border guards of the Slovak Republic reported that they had detained three Afghan citizens on the border. Under the terms of the Agreement on readmission of persons, they were habded over to Ukrainian border guards.
Currently, the offenders are being identified. The fate of the detainees will be determined by court.
Last week, 28 illegal immigrants from Afghanistan were detained at the site of the department "Novoselytsia".
