In Transcarpathia, two clandestine distilleries for cognac production were eliminated
Rendered sugar instead of oak bark - in this way, dealers would stain spirit and established a clandestine production of the "Zakarpatsky" cognac in the city of Uzhgorod and Uzhgorod district. These facts were revealed by tax police officers of Transcarpathia conducting searches of private homes, garage spaces and shops.
In total, during the searches, they found and seized 150 bottles of counterfeit "Zakarpatsky" cognac, more than 226 liters of the cognac ready for bottling, 365 liters of alcohol, 20 thousand counterfeit excise stamps, bottles, labels, devices for bottle sealing.
The estimated cost of the seized excisable products, taking into account the probable amount of evasion of excise duty in the case of use of counterfeit excise stamps, is 300,000 UAH.
The searches were carried out as part of the operation "Excise -2015", under the ruling of Uzhgorod City and District Court and the investigation of the criminal proceedings.
Thus, officers of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region eliminated two clandestine workshops for the production of counterfeit alcoholic drinks and seized material assets that were used for their production.
Currently, the investigation is being conducted.
