Transcarpathian border guards detained 17 more illegal immigrants

During the night on July 4, as part of the joint operation "Frontier-2015", which started on June 15, 2015, officers of the State Border Guard Service in Transcarpathia detained several groups of illegal migrants in amount of 17 people. Thus, border guards of the department "Luzhanka" of the Mukachevo Detachment, after receiving operational information, detained five persons without documents (husband, wife and three children) 300 meters to the border in a reclamation canal. According to them, all of them are Turkish nationals.

Another group of illegal migrants was detained by border guards of the same department at the outskirts of the village of Hunyady, one and a half kilometer to the border, when checking a car VAZ 2104. The "taxi" was carrying 7 persons without documents and 2 citizens of the Ukraine (the driver and his wife). As the border guards found out, one detainee was a citizen of Syria, and the other six illegal migrants were citizens of Somalia. In both cases, the detainees were taken to the border guard station for the preparation of administrative and procedural documents and conducting filtration and verification measures.

Also, border guards of the department "Velyky Berezny" of the Chop detachment detained a local resident without documents near the border. A quick search was organized, during which in cooperation with Slovak colleagues, they detained a group of 5 people from Afghanistan, who were accompanied by a citizen of Slovakia. Filtration measures are being taken. Overall, for the first half of 2015, border guards of the Western Regional Department detained 585 illegal migrants in 177 cases which more than twice more than that in the same period of 2014.
